Because of its exaggerated publicity and unfair competition.Rising said it has the first virtual machine technology in anti-virus industry.Rising called Kaspersky the king of false positive.

I don't agree with Don johnson
    I'm Chinese,rising is a good antvirus,rising antvirus has 40 millions users,it is true!
most users use rising antivirus keep their computer more safe.

    why so many users?
there is more trojans in China.

    why they chose rising antivirus?
rising antivirus really know how to defence on trojans in China than any other antvirus(et. ess avp and so on )

Where are these claims? I'm kind of interested to see them for myself.

Besides, every vendor stretches the truth and subtly omits critical info when marketing their products. It's more or less common practise, I don't see what makes Rising special.

There's too much stuff I have heard for and against Rising from various sources - in the end I would recommend not taking anyone blindly and evaluating the program based on your own experience.

From what I heard, Kaspersky's China branch isn't too good either, but again its all just hearsay.

I suppose every product has its bashers, but the ability to perform really does speak for itself.

I don't know if I'm crazy, but I just replaced my trustworthy friend AntiVir Free with Rising. This AV runs lean and has some nice configuration options with White listing apps. Are there any good reviews on this AV? I'm curious to read them. Also, how do these developers give a product like this away?

Does anyone know how good the HIPS part of it is?

The only issue I have so far is with TF. While scanning, TF smokes the cpu and slows down Risings scan. I guess its an issue with TF to omit the scan executable in Risings product. Also, I had a problem updating the virus definitions on my WinXP pro PC. I get some zip file name in a window. On my Vista Home PC the update went smooth.

    Hi

I thought Rising AV had a HIPS. Why do you still use ThreatFire? Isn't that overlapping?

Your probably right. I just don't know how to use the program. I see an area to add programs to a white list, which I did. I included TF and Geswall programs. I'm not sure how this hips work. I've used SSM, CFP D+ just to name a few and this program is different. TF is more of a behaviour analysis type program, not really a classic hips.

Does anyone know which test files can be used to see how Rising performs? I dunno, but this AV could be a keeper. So far, so good with BOClean.

I'm trying it in the highest protection mode possible, and the resource amount is still respectable, and my computer is workable too.
