    Hello,
Why do they have to take a perfectly functional layout and turn it into a mad crayon fest of colors and functions? It seems that MS is going more for the dumber and dumber audience.

I spend a great deal of my time every day using Office and having used the beta for a while can actually say that the new ribbon is a huge usability improvement for both noobs and advanced users. Overall, I would say this is the first truly useful upgrade/update to MS Office in a very long time. It is also the first version or update, in a long time, that is worth purchasing.

No, I don't work for MS.

I totally agree. I have also run the beta and I do indeed like it.

This new Office is another example of "hate it or love it" :D

I still didn't try it, but the GUI seems really nice...

But I'm also very happy with OpenOffice, so... ;)
