Since this beta dealt with fiting disk problems, Coldmoon asked me to test it to see if it helped on raid 0 system. Bottom line is it did.

I installed it and put it in protected mode. Deleted a few files and rebooted. Files were back. This beta was working fine on the raid 0 system. Excellent.

Then I decided to test it against the issues I found with the similiar product.

First with protection off, I did an FDISR copy. No problem.

Second I setup and started a continous incremental job with Shadow Protect.
Between increments I turned protection on. Made some changes on the desktop and let an incremental run. Went Fine

Rebooted turning off protection and let another incremental fun. Examining the incrementals, they were fine.

    Good job guys.

    Pete

    Hi Peter,
Thanks for testing this and confirming the resolution of this issue on your system. We encourage others with RAID 0 setups to test the most recent beta and let us know thier results.

    Hi kennyboy,
This type of testing is extremely useful from our perspective because it not only confirms our solution for his issue, it also shows stable functionality at a point where most users would not test or use the software.

    Thanks
    Mike

    Arghh!
The latest Beta isn't working for me.. :(
    The Protected Partition is correct,showing D:\ [Harddisk0\Partition3]

But after enabling Session Lock and after restarting, all changes are kept!

The old v1.6 used to work fine for me..

I am using an all SATA configuration with some Firewire, eSATA and USB External HDDs..

    Hello WindBlade,
    Just to be sure:

    1) Do the tray Icon and Toolbar show a change in color when using Session Lock and when you change your protection mode?

    2) Did you acativate the Protection Scheduler feature with the current test hour configured to have the protection OFF?

    3) If you change your default protection mode setting to ON with the Scheduler deactivated, do you have the same results?

    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi!
    1) Yes.. Both the toolbar and Icon changed to Red..
    2) I did not activate any other features.. I assume the Scheuder was off by default?

Basically, I did a full uninstall of the previous version of returnil using Total Uninstall.. Then I restarted the comp and reinstalled v1.7.6160.. I did not set any Virtual Partition nor change any other settings.. Then I restarted the computer again..
Following which, activated Returnil and installed VMWare and MS Virtual PC..
After I restarted, both programs are still on my computer..

Theres one funny thing though.. It says D:\ [Harddisk0\Partition 3]..
    However, my Harddisk0 have 4 Paritions, in the order of C:\ (FAT16 2 GB), D:\, E:\ and G:\..
    Thus, shouldn't it be [Harddisk0\Partition1]?
Edit: Windows did boot into multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS..

    Thanks

    Hello trooper11,
No, we will be releasing the other product Beta for public testing as soon as we have ironed out some minor issues and completed the User's manual.

Just as an update. I put this beta back on my raid machine, and have been putting thru the meat grinder so to speak. It is rock solid.

    Cheers,

    Pete

    Agree. Amazing program.
I try Returnil for several day already. Working solid.
I don't use the Virtual Drive feature, only the system protection.
Hopefully can remain for free for home user.

    Thanks.

Also i don't use virt. drive, for me more convenient to save to another part. or ext. disk.FYI. the rare problems in this app. are mostly related to use of the virt.drive.
