    HI
I am having a problem with restricted site protection in SpywareBlaster.
the enties from Antivir64 to -Antivirus360 seem to disable on a regular basis.
I am using fully update XPpro Sp3,the apps in my signature,(first machine)
    no Spybot,no-host file.Malware free.

    any help appreciated
    thanks

    Hi,

It's likely that one of the scanning/removal tools you use is mistakenly flagging those entries as malicious (a false-positive), and is removing them.

Would you mind listing all of the on-demand / scanning products you run?

    Best regards and thanks,

    Thanks for the reply

    I use on demand:
    SuperAntiSpyWare,
    Malwarebytes Anti-malware,
    A-Squared Free 4

    Thats it.
one change though is i now use Comodo Firewall with D+,
    rather that Kerio 2.1.5

    thanks
    Norm.

    Hi,

Do any of those on-demand scanners regularly detect anything on your system?

i.e. Does there seem to be any correlation between when you run those scans, and when SpywareBlaster shows protection partially disabled?

    Best regards and thanks,

    HI,
No, other than a cookie once in awhile found by A-Squared 2,I
never have anything like a detection at all.
It is possible this has really only happened once,as I could have found
the disabled protection during a Returnil session, and re-enabled all Spyware
Blaster protection within the Returnil session.
Of course when I re-booted,the same problem would be there.
Anyway, its all up and fine at the moment.

    Hi.
Just to touch base once more,I still have the problem.
    Here is something strange.
Since I lasted posted about the lost site protection,I have started using Returnil.
I only come out of Returnil to update my Anti--Virus,and on demand scanners.
The daily quick scans with Malwarebytes and A-Squared are carried out with Returnil on.
I can check and see that all protection is enabled on SpyWareblaster,
boot into returnil, check agin, protection still enabled, then a few hours latter
the same 81 sites are unprotected.
THEN,this is what i really cant get,the unprotected state persists after booting out of Returnil.
The only scan I do outside of Returnil is my Avira free daily scan.
Is it possible that updates of Malwarebytes,A-Squared,SuperAnti-Spyware,or Avira could cause this?

OK,well I guess there are so many variables on each machine, that to try
and run down a problem that seems unique to this one,is simply not a good
    allocation of resources.
As I use Firefox,it is not that big of a thing, yet for Windows updates, certain
sites, etc,I do have to use IE7,and like anything that can boost its security.
I do wonder why it is only the fake anti-viri programs that seem to loose
    protection.
So if the protection is comprimised, with no real way to fix it,I supose I will un-instal.

    thanks for all assistance.
