I am using Acronis Home 10. I have a Dell D600 notebook, with a 40GB hard drive. The drive has Windows XP installed. When I use the backup wizard to make an image of the drive, and then the recovery wizard to restore the data to a 40GB hard drive, it works flawlessly. However, as soon as I try to restore that drive to a different size drive, i.e. a 30GB or 60GB, it will not boot, regardless of whether I have ticked the "Replace MBR at Track 0" or not. The drive boots to a blinking "_". Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello phreak532,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please notice that Dell notebooks usually have a special hidden partition placed there by the manufacturer. Moving it or resizing may make the computer unbootable.

    Thank you.
