My suggestion of bigger drive may not be that helpful.
Why not post a screeny of your defragger results.
FWIW: Rejzors front end for sysinternals contig/dfrag tool -may- be the best bet at a 'compression' defrag run on the data/disc space issue http://www.excessive-software.eu.tt/ : Powerdefragmenter

We may be kind of losing opportunities here: image with BING or IFW and keep it somewhere: can pull files out later.
go for partition shrink and then image and restore.
We haven't got to Hardware dependent restore issues yet..

Heh: maybe aim for slightly smaller disc partitions next time ?? :)

I'm really on the verge of just giving up. I thought I'd be safe with all my SP backups now it turns out there next to useless unless I have a spare drive thats big enough. I shrunk the drive with BING and now I'm getting more disc errors after I thought I'd cured them with a low level format. Anyway, for future reference here is a snapshot of my data. I assume that this means with IfW I could back up and restore to a smaller HDD as the data is all in one place?
