    Hi
    1)
i made an image of my C: of my windows xp with Hard Disk Manager 2010 Professional

i used the winpecd , selected C: and mbr

well if i run the wizard , my restore image boots

well if i run the program , click on the partition and select restore ->the image
    ->apply ->after the restore process , my xp doesn't booto_O :thumbd:

what's wrong? i read the manual , did not find an answer

    2)
and another question , in the restore wizard i did notice that i can select folders to restore , so i guess i can restore the all image outside the folder for example c:\my music
    is this dangerous?
i mean restore an image , excluding a folder , it should damage the mft, should not it?

    thanks
    best regards

    Hi,

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean - they are opposite statements

You can restore ( copy back ) any files you want from the image without any problem.

when i did finish to restore the image
    i reboot my pc

    nice video
    really thanks!

but you did use the wizard

i want to use the Full Scale Drive Backup , and clicked on partition ->restore->image files-> and my C: doesn't boot

with the wizard like in the movies , it works to me , i mean i can restore and boot

but again with the full scale drive backup , i can restore an image but after my xp doesn't boot!

    thanks

That's strange, I thought the restore process was the same for both the Wizard and the context menu.

Did you try running Paragon Boot Corrector >Correct boot.ini.

    Hi Mantra,

I just spotted the bit where you said you get the Ntldr is missing message.

That message indicates ntldr is not found - which is subtly different from missing.

It may mean the wrong partition is marked Active.

Are the boot files ntldr, boot.ini and ntdetect.com on the partition you restored?

They are Hidden files, so you need to Show Hidden Files in Folder Options to see them.

If they are present, is that partition marked Active?

The partition containing the boot files should be the only Active partition on that HD.

    Re: may you do it

yes they are inside the partition

i have to make an another test
    what i know is
the wizard makes my partition bootable and so active
restore via context menu no ,maybe is a bug
i used the wizard to make the image ,is of course active

is there a list of bugs about Hard Disk Manager 2010 Professional

    thanks a lot

If you mark the restored partition Active - does it work?
