Hi - I've being using the excellent Partition Expert for a while now and have just had a problem on a DELL laptop (XP SP2).

I've tried to increase my C: partition using space from another partition. At the end of the operation I got a BSOD - sorry I didn't write down the info - but after reboot all worked fine but the size of C: under XP was unchanged. However in Partition Expert the size was reported to be bigger (by the amount I increased it by.)

Is this an MBR corruption? Any ideas appreciated.

    Hello grumpycrab,

Thank you for using Acronis Disk Management Software.

First of all please check your disk drives using the following command from the command prompt:

    chkdsk [volume:] /r

If the above doesn't help please do the following:

Please download Acronis Report utility available at http://www.acronis.com/files/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it, create a report and send it to us. This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Please collect the information requested above and contact us from our web-site: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/support/ . Please don't forget to send the link to this thread along with gathered information. This would allow us to investigate the problem and help you with the solution.

    Thank you.
