I am trialing Nod32. When I installed it yesterday, it reported that I had an incompatible program called F-Protect installed on my system and that it might cause problems.

I was then presented with two choices.

    1. Continue
    2. Go back

There was no option to remove F-Prot before continuing or any other option.

I have never knowingly had F-Prot installed on this desktop so I decided to continue and all seems to be working fine. After installation, I searched my entire system for anything called F-Prot, FPAV, FRISK, etc. and found nothing. Also nothing in the registry.

What made NOD323 think I had this program installed? Is there anything more I should do about it?

    Thanks.

Best guess is the installer flagged a previously installed AV as F-Prot.
If there are no issues, you are good to go, assuming you have fully uninstalled any previously installed AV.

    Keep us posted.

    Thanks.

    Sorry. My mistake.

It was F-Secure that was detected not F-Prot. And yes, there were a number of leftover folders and registry entries from that. All cleaned up now.

    Thanks.

Not a problem, if you should need a full uninstaller, please refer to this list
