repeated signatures

just looking through the latest updates on http://www.nod32.ch/en/news/update.php#CurVersion and there are a lot that are repeated, e.g. Win32/Adware.Maxifiles

these dont look like variants (e.g. .a, .b, etc), they just seem to be repeated definitions.

there are more examples. why is this? i guess it's a question for an eset person.

lol looks like all this guy does is go over the new signatures...... i can see he knows how to keep himself busy

 

Tried searching - Only found 2 'maxi' entries:

1.1188 [20050808]
Win32/Adware.Maxifiles

1.358 [20030207]
Win32/PSW.Maximum.A

And obviously they have nothing to to with each other.

 

Maybe it is the Search feature his browser. For example, instead of stopping when the search gets to the bottom of the webpage like Internet Explorer does, Opera will loop around and continue the search from the top.

In other words, he could be repeating the search on the webpage 10 times without realizing it.
