    Hi,

My NOD32 AV (version 4) runs out in 3 days. I wasn't sure whether to renew, only because of the cost, but I have always been pleased with the AV.

What I'd like to know is, if I renew will I automatically receive version 5 or will I be stuck with an older version for another year?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Carrie :)

With current and valid licence you are always able to update to the latest version. So yes you can download and run v5

Thankyou so much for your quick reply. So if I click on Renew, Version 5 will automatically be installed, not Version 4? Only I notice on Amazon that's you're not able to buy Version 5 on there until November 30th & as I say, mine runs out in 3 days.

It will not automatically download v5. You have to do it from Eset site. You can actually do that now and then renew

I'm not sure what you mean (sorry).

If I was to renew the usual way, I would simply click on Renew, then pay the £20.95.

So do you mean I should renew V4, then go to Eset's page and download V5?

    I'm a bit confused. :(

I mean you can update now to version 5 as your licence is valid for 3 more days.

Can you tell me please, should I uninstall Version 4 before I install Version 5? If I should, will it 'let me back in' to install it if I no longer have it on my PC, without having to pay for full subscription instead of renewal fee?

    TIA,

    Carrie

I would remove version 4 before installing version 5. Since you still have 2 days remaining, you should have no problem downloading version 5.
A license for NOD32 allows you to download either version 4 or 5. You have a 30 or 60 day grace period (I'm not sure which) to renew your license after it expires. After that period, you must pay the full price (not renewal price).

Hi Thankful, thankyou for your reply.

I have just paid to renew my license, but of course it is not showing as being done as yet, the icon is still orange.

Can I uninstall Version 4 and install Version 5 today, or should I wait for the 24 hours that ESET say it might take for the license to renew once payment is made & for the icon to go back to green?

You should be able to install version 5 today. I would remove version 4 first.
If you have any problems, let us know.

If you have already purchased a renewal, your license should be updated within a few minutes. Click "Verify license validity" to retrieve the current information about your license.

Thankyou Marcos, I didn't know you could do that, I've always waited the 24 hours! :)
