    Hi there,

I am a reseller of NOD32 and yesterday while renewing a client's username and password (LAN, with a few PC, update each manually) I found a problem I could not resolve. I have recreated the problem on the machine I am using now so I can experiment on this one.

On this PC is version 1.1404, last updated 2.5 hours ago (relative because I live in Sydney Australia and time differences can be difficult). Soon after that time, I deleted a couple of characters from both my username and password.

Since that time, a scheduled automatic update has been run (as indicated in the NOD32 System Tools -> Scheduler/Planner -> last run on date/time.

I have just clicked on NOD32 Update Now. After a few seconds, it redisplayed the status as Idle and the last update showed as the one done 2.5 hours ago. No message at all at all in the event log.

Why do I not get an error message that my NOD32 username and password are incorrect?

    Thanks,
    Rosemary

that's because the connection to find out if there is an update isn't authenticated, but the connection to FETCH the update is authenticated.... so when there is an update, you'll find out that the username/password are incorrect.
