How does one guarantee that the manufacturer (of any mobile device) does tap the info secretly? Maybe an embedded dormant chip which can be activated under special circumstances or through an upgrdage/patch process? My understanding is that this is legally and officially implemented in certain sectors, esp. defense. The info gathered here is from internet/social media - not an official source, when an advanced country sells a high-end equipment(say, a fighter jet) to an underdeveloped country, I believe its usually a "restricted" version primarily to prevent misuse of the system. If true, the same logic can be extrapolated to other devices, esp. mobile. How trustworthy are these? We usually come to know after the damage is done (ex. Google Pixel phone's microphone issue)
