I'm evaluating TI8 Enterprise on a VMWare testbed. I've successfully imaged and restored a virtual disk; great!

What I can't seem to figure out is how to install components remotely via the management console. I keep getting a 1219 error -- apparently some kind of permissions/configuration problem.

Here's what I know from sniffing the network traffic during an install attempt.

    1)
Remote install is done via HTTP, so a running (and properly configureed) IIS is clearly a prerequisite.

    2)
WebDAV appears to be involved in the process:
    "User-Agent: Microsoft-WebDAV-MiniRedir/..."
    in another exchange:
    "PROPFIND /ADMIN%24 HTTP/1.1 <CR> <LF> ..."
finally, the session fails when the remote system responds with a 404 Resource not found.

I'm using WinXP Pro SP1 for both source and target systems, and I'm authenticating through the "Administrator" account.

This seems like a configuration issue. Can anybody tell me what I'm missing?
How should the target machine be configured to support remote installations?

    Thanks.

    Hello TI8Tester,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image Enterprise Server (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/ATIESWin/).

We are really sorry for the inconveniences.

To install the remote components to the remote computer you don't need to have IIS or any other special services. You need to choose the "Install Acronis components to a remote computer" wizard, choosethe component and input the name of the computer, the user name and password. Please make sure the remote connection is allowed by firewall and the user account you indicate has enough rights to install new components to the remote computer.

If you still have any problems with Acronis True Image Enterprise Server please send screenshots of all your steps to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread and indicate that you want to contact Ilya Toytman. I will help you to solve the problems.

    Thank you.
