Just wondering what SanboxieCrypto.exe is doing?

 

removed suspend/resume menu entry, pooling that state wasts substantial cpu cycles, use task explorer for that functionality

I hope you fixed the high cpu usage of the sandman process (almost 1% on my 8 core processor), that´s the main reason i am not using it, among other little bugs and crashes. I like the new interface and it's promising but for the moment I'm still with the classic version.

thank you BJM - am I correct in assuming that it may not run in a sandbox when there is no program asking for it? I noticed this in one sandbox running but not in the other.

 

Well, I'd not thought about it.....
I do find SandboxieCrypto.exe in my Edge sandbox & not in my Sumatra nor Windows Media Player sandbox.

 

Yes that is correct SandboxieCrypto.exe gets only started when its required.

I didn't have to uninstall and reinstall this time (Plus), but it wouldn't update the current installation in its non-standard location, nor did it let me change the install folder. In the end I had to use the /DIR= switch and it seems ok ATM. Any issues and I'll uninstall and reinstall.

A bit OT: WOW, Avast showed a real irregular behaviour. It stopped the install and mentioned it was sent to them for check, when I never ever saw such a setting in the tool. While I trusted them so far, despite the crap they did with collecting and then selling data, which was a big negative hit in trusting them. Now they seem to have sent a file, which I never permitted. Time that clamav gets a on access scan.
After telling Avast to go to Doom, installed and had a look.


Grouping is OK now for simple create group and adding a SB into it. However there are multiple bugs, here are some:

• If you remove the last sandbox, group is deleted. Also if you create two groups, and one gets a SB inside, the other is removed.
  
• Why is the status Box Group"e". Is this a status? I would rather make it a folder icon and if status is something, then maybe the number of SBs inside?
• The hierarchy with the twisty only shows, once you have a box inside, as long as it is empty it just sits there like all the other boxes. When you create a new group, it might show at the end of the list. Sorting doesn't change it. Though one time, it showed alphabetical sorted. No clue when this happened, couldn't redo.
  
• When I created a new group "test1" and moved to "test", "test" got removed, replaced by "test1" and the SB in "test" moved out of the group.

So in general groups, act weird. I would also suggest to add Add or Create new Group in the main Sandbox menu.

The following is not new, but never looked at it before: What is the Sandbox Maintenance menu for.
Connect/ Disconnect? Why do I want to disconnect sandman from SBIE?
Also the Advanced part is disabled. Future plans?
On a side note, I only realized it is disabled, when I switched to standard theme. With Dark theme enabled, there is no clear sign it is disabled, but it looks even special, as it is more accentuated. It should be less visible, if disabled in dark theme too.


Besides this, all working as before.

 

Okay....I removed my default boxes and started over.
I created a new default box from SbieCtrl name Default. I created a new default box from SandMan name Default Plus.
