    Hi everybody!

I have something here that is puzzling. I installed Registry Mechanic and done a scan and it showed an infected file (will give screen shot of it).

I looked in the Quarentine in Nod and found nothing. I looked in Eset folder and seen a warnlog.dat16 KB and a virlog.dat 1KB, I don't know if those files are there by default or not. Don't know if this is legitimate or not.

I never seen a pop up of any kind about an infection.

    Thanks everyone!

Hi Rilla, this is NOT an infected file; it is however the infected folder where a copy of any infected files would be stored, as you can see in your screenshot, it is the "Quarantine Directory".

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers :D

As far as I know, Registry Mechanic does not check for viruses. However, it does check whether files/folders mentioned in the registry are actually present in the hard drive. If you have not quarantined any viruses, then it is quite possible that the "infected" folder is not there yet. Registry Mechanic, not knowing any better, suggests removing the registry entry as a way of eliminating registry "bloat". This is not something you want to do, at least with this entry.

If you were to create this folder manually, I bet the Registry Mechanic message would go away. ;)

    Hi Alglove,

I ran a registry cleaner and that showed up, I didn't know if it was serious or not, but thanks for your help.
