I've purchased TI Home 10 recently. I found that after performing an uninstall, registry entires are not being removed (HKLM\Software\Acronis and HKCU\Software\Acronis)

Also, the scheduler2 service is not being removed from the startup list (that points to Program Files/Common File/Acronis) however the item at this location no longer exist. So the startup item is pointing to a non existent location.

Also, the registry entry HKLM\Software\Acronis cannot be deleted even though the software is uninstalled. It gives a "Cannot delete Acronis: Error while deleting key" error. Can you tell me how to remove this entry?

PS: Ah, and I just see that the Acronis2 Scheduler service is still in the "Services" list! The program has been removed, why is it still there?

PS2: I guess I should've been more thorough with my post. HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_ACRSCH2SVC also cannot be deleted because it gives the same arror as mentioned above. I bet this is why the service is still in my services list.

And just in case you ask...yes I did restart my machine a few times. I wish it would be THAT simple.

I cannot think of a single uninstal routine that removes every single trace of files that were deposited by the installation. Some are better than others, with Acronis being in the same league as Norton and AOL - really bad. :(

You will have to manually remove any remnants you find.

Usually you can change the permissions on the key, then delete the key. To change permissions, right click on the key, left click on Permissions. Left click on the user you're logged in as [you may have to be logged in as a user in the admin group]. Click on Full Control. You should now be able to delete the key.
