Registry Defragmentation

    Is it a good idea to defrag the registry.?
    Are there any benefits from this.
    If so can anybody reccomend any good programs please.?

    There are some apps that claim it's beneficial to do so. I have never seen any objective proof they make any difference.

    The registry is a database and accessed in a mostly random fashion.
    You will loose more time in installing and defragging the registry than you will ever gain in using your machine.

    Wilders has many enjoyable, but inconclusive, threads on the subject of defragging and "cleaning" the registry :)
