Don't know if this is the place for registry software discussions. But I guess I would like some feedback on whether registry cleaning software is really necessary. Both online, and among people I have discussed this with directly, there seems to be a split between those who say it is a waste of time, while others say it is an essential and useful software component for any computer.

I have limited experiences with this kind of software, but right now I have Lavasoft Registry Tuner and like it a lot. Its wiping function is superb. I have never had any other software that wipes records of my recent activity from browsers and temporary files as well as Registry Tuner. The registry cleaning and repair portion of the software seems perfectly fine as well.

    Thanks for any input.

As you have limited knowledge of this kind of software you should not use the registry cleaning and repair section without supervision. I think some of the other stuff might be handled by Disk Cleanup which is built into Windows. I've got CCleaner but I put it away with a break glass in case of fire note attached.

Thank you MrBrian! Since we have so many Registry Cleaning threads already, and opinions have been shared, let's close this one.
