After uninstalling programs with Revo (sometimes it can't get rid of everything) I usually run TuneUp Utilities 2009 (TuneUp 1-Click Maintenance) then I follow that by CCleaner for Registry only.

Jv16 PT 2009. I use it, but clean registry with maybe once in two moons. Usually done as part of larger maintenance procedure.

CCleaner daily cleanup, AMUST Registry Cleaner 4.0 weekly or after sw installs/deinstalls. After trialling many it was the only one that worked but no longer available.

I used Eusing Registry cleaner for years without problems.
Now I just rely on regedit after uninstalls, and CCleaner day to day.

    Don't use one.

If I was going to use one? It would probably be CCleaner.

I haven't touched a registry cleaner in years; the last time I did, well, let's just say that I'm lucky I had -and took- the option of a back-up...

When I did use one, I never once found it made one iota of a difference to how my system ran.

Ccleaner seems buggy still if you set it for start on windows and clean feature. Manually it works okay. FCleaner seems to work but the last updates I don't see it working correctly. It likes to play sound effects on load and after cleaning. I guess the author is into sound stuff. nCleaner is very powerful and you got to know what your doing with that one. That can run on schedule load with windows and clean.

    Ccleaner
    FCleaner
    NCleaner

    All are freeware..

How is Comodo? I tried it one time and it detected so much that i pressed Cancel. Wasn't brave enough to continue :)

I seem to be the only one who uses Yamicsoft Windows 7 Manager. The registry cleaner is not too agressive, you can chose the categories to scan(Invalid Paths, Invalid Active X,...) and of course back-up the whole registry which one can restore with the same tool.
But anyway I only use a registry cleaner to quickly look up potential problematic keays and delete them manually if needed.
The bundle also contains a Junk File cleaner. Cleans up all kind of clutter, especially temp. Running this tool from time to time prevents building up clutter that may effectively slow down your system without doing any harm.
Resume: There is no need for registry cleaning on a regular basis as the clutter that may slow down the system is removed by the junk file cleaner rather than by the registry cleaner.

Of course all the above is based on my personal experience and situation.

    PS I use Windows 7 Ultimate x64

+1, Yamicsoft is a excellent tools, i use it on 7 HomeBasic x64, and is a very powerfull program not intrusive like Tune up or syst mechan or aso, and he did a very good job, the registry cleaner is strong and made no mistake.
