I currently have a 32meg USB memory stick, formatted with DOS, with most of my utilities - BIOS flashing, GHOST, partition tools, etc.

Is it possible to add the recovery software for Acronis True Image Home v10 to this stick? How about the image generating software?

I really would like to have all my emergency tools on a single device.

    Thanks!

At some point or another we all have to add another device to carry. This may be that point for you. :D The Acronis True Image recovery CD is Linux based so I have my doubts that you can add it to that stick. Besides, aren't you just about running out of room on a 32mb device with those other items on it?

I don't know if this varies from configuration to configuration but the Full version of the ATI v10 (4942) rescue media I created is over 35 MB. I doubt you'll have much luck with a 32 MB stick. With some 1 GB flash drives selling for under $20, it might be a good time to grab a bigger stick. ;)

The complete rescue media is 47mb in size so it won't fit on there. The full version is 35mb so it won't fit however the Safe version is 16.5mb so it may fit but it doesn't have all the drivers.

I've got several drives, ranging up to 2gig, so I can always move up to a bigger drive. The 32meg still has about 24meg free on it.

I just don't know how I'd go about putting ATI onto the stick along with the rest of the software.

This can most certainly be done, but 24 megs will probably not be enough space. I haven't trimmed TI down to see just how small it can be since I use them all. I have TI (full & safe), DD (full & safe) and OSS (activate & install) on my flash drive. I think it's 50+ megabytes.

If you have DD and are familiar with Knoppix (or have a Linux system) it's a lot easier to do. I have BartPE, Knoppix 5.1.1, Acronis and FreeDOS all on my 2GB flash drive, with GRUB installed to select between them. It's very handy and is a lot quicker than booting from cds.
