I tried to make a recovery flash drive in Windows 10, and I got an error message that the recovery drive is missing files, and in fact, I can't boot into the recovery environment from my hard disk. I tried restoring to an earlier Macrium Reflect image, and that didn't help. So I am not sure when the problem started. Can I rebuild it or restore it? This particular system is 1909, updated from 1903. I have a recovery flash drive with 1903, from a different computer.
One option, would be to create a bootable Windows 10 flash drive of build 1909, using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool. It will download the ISO file for 1909 and then make a bootable flash drive. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
It's definitely a good idea to do that, but I do like the convenience of having the recovery options right on my hard drive.
ha, now that i reread your post, that's because you're trying to use a recovery drive created for another system.
My real quest is to restore/repair the native recovery partition of this 1909 system. The flash drive that I made from another system is just meant to be a spare flash drive, that's all. It's not really solving my problem and is not meant to.
