I was testing the recovery disk (CD) and it would boot to the screen which allows you to choose between "safe" or "full version".

I would pick "full version" and it would go past the splash screen then to the screen that has the ATI Image and the words "loading please wait". It is at that point that it would stall and not go past that point.

I found out what was causing it to hang.

I had a USB card reader in the front USB port. I unplugged it and tested it several times and it went through just fine. I plugged it back in and it hung again and as soon as I unplugged it it immediately finished loading.

I don't know if that can help anyone or if it was mentioned before but just wanted to share what I found.

I'm glad you posted that since there is next to no documentation on this issue.
It's not the problem in my case, but thank you just the same.:thumb:

One of the common troubleshooting recommendations for TI when booting from the rescue cd, is to disconnect all unnecessary USB devices from the computer. TI will "hang" trying to detect an unknown device in some cases.

This can probably also apply to internally connected USB devices as most newer motherboards have multiple internal USB headers for media readers, WiFi, drives, etc.

It has been my experience that if you wait until the UI is loaded up (where you select Backup, Recovery, etc), then plug in the usb drive before making a selection, it will be recognized.
