Not too long ago, I had LnS 2.06p2 installed on my laptop. Due to some corrupted files, I had to re-install LnS, but I am only able to install version 2.06p1. I have downloaded the p2 installer, but when I run it, nothing changes, and LnS still shows 2.06p1. Or, should I just not worry about it and leave it at that version? Thanks in advance for any advice that will allow me to get p2 installed again.
Hi, Nothing happens at all, or do some installation dialog boxes open anyway ? Maybe there is something wrong with the Windows Installer package. Assuming VC2005-SP1 is already installed, here is a direct link to the usual Look 'n' Stop setup: http://looknstop.soft4ever.com/Beta/2.06p2/LooknStop_Setup_206p2.exe Could you try it ? Thanks, Frederic
Frederic, That link worked perfectly well, and 2.06p2 installed successfully! I don't know why, but I must have not been using the correct installer package. Thanks very much for your help!
Thanks for the update. Did you have anyway some dialog boxes with the other Setup, or nothing ? Frederic
There was a very brief dialog box, saying, I think, only that LnS was being set-up or installed. Then, that disappeared and nothing else occurred. With the link/installer you gave me, it was completely different, and I knew it was working. There was a dialog that said there was another version installed, do you want to replace it? I did not see this at all with my previous attempts. I tried previously with the link in post #1 of this thread: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=194644 I tried many times using this link, and nothing happened. (I have Windows XP Home Edition, so I tried the Win32 link) But, the link you gave me worked immediately. Thanks again for your help!
Yes, there is a 2.06p2 version (which is a beta version) is available. There is a sticky post here for it. Frederic
Ok thanks for the information. This is the first report like this. The setup from the second link I gave, is anyway the one included in the standard package (from the sticky post). The difference is it is part of another Windows Installer package in order to automatically installs the VC2005-SP1 library (when required). But an error or something wrong should happen in your case and this pre-step (before starting the real setup) is aborted with no error message... Frederic
