I like the new dark mode and design changes to the v0.3.8782.14406 interface, but has anyone noticed a change in the functionality? The change log at the bottom of the download page at https://www.quickinstaller.net/download says "N/A" and I don't see any change in behaviour - for example, it does not look like any of my "unsupported" installed or portable apps have been added to the list of "supported" programs in v0.3.8782.14406, and a few bugs I've reported haven't been fixed.

    Hi JRViejo:

Thanks, I understand that. I was just expecting that a change log would be posted in the Change Log section at https://www.quickinstaller.net/download since the latest v0.3.8782.14406 (rel. 17-Jan-2024) is the first release to change the version number from 0.2.x to 0.3.x.

Has anyone currently testing QuickInstaller Preview v0.3.8782.14406 noticed any changes other that the new dark theme for the GUI? Is there any new functionality I should be testing?

It's a one man show. We're lucky it's being updated at all. :)

I'm not sure when this happened, but I recently noticed that QuickInstaller v0.3.8830.19890 now supports Belarc Advisor v12.x.

Kudos to the developer Hans Christian Ihlen-Abelson.

I'm using his latest release and have made many suggestion to improve the program.
The biggest drawback is that, Like SUMo and DUMo this is a one man operation.
The Dev is actively seeking help from other programmers willing to get involved with the development.
I'm no programmer and have never been. At 83 YO I'm past the time of learning.
This could in time be the perfect replacement for SUMo if and when he could get some help.
The biggest drawback is the program is slow slow slow.

    EDIT:
I also get a lot of this "QuickInstaller Preview 0.3.8830.199890 (Not Responding)"

A strange thing has happened with QuickInstaller on one of Window 11 computers.
After installing it, everything worked just fine, but...
I've started updating various MS visual C++ files with QuickInstaller, and the software stopped working for me.
I've tried numerous times to uninstall (by using its own and third party uninstallers) and re-install it, but nothing worked.
I've tried to start it as Administrator to no avail.
When I click on QuickInstaller icon, that usual blue pop-up window shows up and a few seconds later, it disappears, and QuickInstaller does not run.

Sounds like it is crashing. Is there anything in your Application logs in the Event Viewer?

QuickInstaller needs Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime 8.0.2.
Did it offer to install the runtime at install?

During my multiple uninstall/install procedures, I wasn't asked anything.

I think it says the following:

Eap method DLL path validation failed.

Skipping: Eap method DLL path validation failed. Error: typeId=254, authorId=311, vendorId=14122, vendorType=1

Skipping: Eap method DLL path validation failed. Error: typeId=55, authorId=311, vendorId=0, vendorType=0

I've installed your suggested software, re-installed QuickInstaller, but, again, could not pass that blue pop-up windows.
My Task Manager does not show any QuickInstaller.

I run @abbodi1406's file every time he updates it.
It would seem that he has an ownership problem.
Take ownership of C:\Windows\System32 and QuickInstaller's install location.

I am, and have been for some time doing the same. I only have one portable so my experience with portables is immaterial. In my experience, QuickInstaller is better than UCheck, for at least my software programs. QuickInstaller alerts me to updates to a program much sooner than UCheck, sometimes as much as two days earlier. QuickInstaller will also accept a user's request to add a specific program while UCheck will not. I am not sure how long UCheck has been using "winget" but since UCheck has it has shown more promise. So, I too will continue using both programs.
