    Expecting Xerobank to filter geolocation information that you choose to allow your browser (Firefox now, Chrome and Opera coming soon) is like expecting it to filter out your street address when you enter it into an Amazon.com order form.

    Xerobank provides anonymity by proxying your network address, thus it operates at the network level. The geolocation information in question is http traffic that you send from your browser, application level traffic.

    To block this traffic (which is only being sent because you authorized it) would require deep packet inspection and a complex filter set, something beyond the capabilities of firewalls, requiring a dedicated DPI device.

    Yes, you could block the address of the geolocation service provider you use, though it would probably be easier to just not enable geolocation in the first place if you have concerns. also, if you are using a GPS-enabled device then a geolocation service provider would not be necessary.

    If you are concerned about a malware application relaying geolocation information without your authorization, then you should probably be more concerned about it emptying you bank account and stealing credit card and other personal info from your computer. If you have special concerns about surreptitious tracking then it just as likely that it would be sending geolocation information in an encrypted form and even DPI would likely not discover it.

    Or, in Firefox, just turn it off.

    * In the URL bar, type about:config
    * Type geo.enabled
    * Double click on the geo.enabled preference
    * Location-Aware Browsing is now disabled
