The attack vector isn't the same for FireFox ... driveby-downloads exploit IE's activeX, FF doesn't have this issue, as it doesn't utilize ActiveX. While it could be possible to exploit FF using xpi files (extensions) (which are similar to activeX controls) FF whitelist approach makes it less likely, as the user would have to be consciense/cognizant, by having to add the permitted sites to the whitelist. With that said, if you stick with extensions from Mozilla site - I'd say it would be Highly unlikely anything available there would be a source for an exploit, as the communtiy would be up in arms and that extension would quickly be pulled.

Popups are popups, Spyware Blaster isn't going to prevent them. ;) Either use a firewall with that ability (popup blocker), or a seperate web filter.

Could you give an example of this 'spyware' that exploits Firefox in some way ... I currently don't know of any. :doubt:

    my favourite extensions
duplicate tab - CTRL+SHIFT+M merges all firefox windows into 1 ...love that
    https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=28
tab x - gives each tab an X so you can close it faster
    https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=785
forecastfox - weather report inside your firefox
    https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=398
flashblock - blocks those annoying ads/videos, you can play them if you want
    https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=433
    adblock - blocks ads...duh :)
    https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=10

there are 3214523452523 more extensions...but that's the great thing about firefox, you can customize to your taste

    Hi Chaos,

Ice has posted a solution for blocking popups/popunders that are using flash to get around FF's default settings/configuration. I've C&P the post here as well as providing a link to the thread, which can be read HERE
I provided a screenshot of the new setting as well. ;)

    HTH,

    Steve
