does "ten-forward" actually have any meaning? who made it up?
It was a default forum section created at the installation of one of the earlier forum software packages. It might have been YaBB SP1 Gold that created it, and we just kept it through all the upgrades and conversions.
There are other forums among some of our peers that have a "ten-forward" section for their social postings. I believe the term itself comes from Star Trek, The Next Generation.
I've lobbied for a name change to ... ~the dog house / or pound~ to no avail. Even though I had "Pixel's" support.
if ur interested, Maximum PC forum does have a Dog Pound section
My vote would go to "Pound The Dog"!!
But...only if you're lonely, ed
Yup, ten-forward was the lounge/bar/cafe place where all the socializing on the Enterprise took place hehe
[emphasis mine] Heeeeeey ! It still is ! I watch it every day on Spike TV and it's still there !
Triva. There is no "ten-forward" in the NCC 1701E.
It used to be that, but now it's just degenerated to "The place where all the crazy, insane people hang out."
Crazy ? Mee ??
NO! And that is obvisously Crystal Clear!!
I'm just hanging 'down' there for my studies on human humor...and how it affects their daily online time and habits.
