Hello, I am writing an article in which I am showing users where they can submit malware and false positives.

I have so far found no online submission form or email address which users can use to submit these to you. Can you please let me know what these are or how I can submit samples to Clearsight?

    Thanks.

You can just use the product and override the files directly within the local UI, or report them through our support portal at www.webroot.com/support

    Hope that helps!

So I should advise my readers to send the files to Webroot.

    Is that correct?

There's no real way of sending files unless you use WSA via the GUI but the MD5 hash of the file is fine via the Webroot support portal!

OK, so Webroot owns Prevx. Sorry, I haven't been paying much attention to such things.

Does this mean that any samples I submit either through the support pages:
    http://support.webroot.com/app/utils/login_form/redirect/ask
or via this email address esupport@webroot.com
will be added to the signatures for Prevx as well?

By the way, I have already verified the above two options as ways of submitting files to Webroot.

I'm just trying to make sense of this so I can make it as easy on my readers as possible.

    Thanks.

Yes, that's correct. I've never heard of the @webroot.com address for samples so it may be worth pushing users to just write into our support inbox where the bulk of our research/support team check constantly.

Okay, I've confirmed through Webroot tech support that it's okay to send samples to esupport@webroot.com.

    Thanks.

Actually they just sent me an email back in which they said that there is actually a different email address to send samples to. The one I quoted above is incorrect.

The correct email address is submissions@webroot.com.
