    hiya

I normally use drivesnapshot to image my C drive to my external usb drive which takes less than 2mins ,the problem is I have to load a Bartpe cd to restore the image because I have no floppy drive.
I like the idea of being able to restore with just a reboot in FirstDefense, the question I have is if I were to restore a drivesnapshot image after I had installed and used FirstDefense will there be any traces of FirstDefense code in my mbr when my drivesnapshot image is restored?

Yes, the preboot will survive the restore.

If you don't want that, you have two options:
1- Disable preboot before you take an image.
2- Run the following command after restore:
    Code:
    c:\>snapshot restore hd1 mbrall <snapshot.sna>
Where you replace <snapshot.sna> with the correct name.

Thanks for the help! I will use option 2 as you indicated. :)
