Pumpernickel (FIDES)

Hope he can achieve that 'realignment' and stay afloat. His applications at the forefront among many discerning forum members.
Possibly not packaged correctly / marketed enough for enterprise, and too geeky for consumer markets.

 

Mostly (but not 100%) out of curiosity I did today a small test to check how the good old Excubits products perform today in Windows 10. At first glance it would seem that both Bouncer and MemProtect still work as they did years ago, but with Pumpernickel there are some problems.

The driver seems to install correctly, but trying to start it throws system error 5 "Access is denied", and when starting the Pumpernickel Tray app it throws an error message "Pumpernickel Without kernel signalling. Cannot initialize application correctly".

I wonder if anyone has been using Pumpernickel during the last four years and if so, have you had success in still running it... I do not keep much hope alive to be able to get it running any longer, but if someone else has been able to do it, the reason for my error messages may lie in my Windows configuration... So that's why I decided to ask this.

(FWIW, I really did like Excubits products: They were small and simple kernel mode minifilter drivers and were rock solid in doing what they were designed for. I also wonder if anyone still knows how Florian is doing nowadays...).
