    Hi

Is PRSC and NAB the exact same product except for the interface?

Because I thought I read somewhere that NAB also had their SONAR technology, but then I think someone for PRSC on Wilders said they were the exact same thing.

    Thanks

    Hi

Well then wouldn't that be really strange?

Because I think the PRSC costs $34.95 and NAB costs $29.95. So wouldn't everyone just buy NAB?

Some people think that when they pay more, they get a better protection. :D

I was given a copy of NAB so I never paid but if I was to purchase this behaviour blocker it looks like it would make sense to buy NAB if they are the same.

    Hi,

Technically, both of them are the same.
    Money wise, there is a difference. And, if you read fine prints--unless there is an update lately;

PRSC--unlimited re-downloads from their web site.
NAB-- up to 2-3 times re-downloads allowed only.

You pay what you get. :D

What does the downloads mean? Updates?

If so, why would you need to download it it more than 2/3 times?

    Thanks

    :D

    Hi,

There are times when you need to redownload due to reformat and the back up disk is nowhere to be found. o_O

When you want the latest updates of the PRSC program first (before auto push mechanisme), you have to download it again. The auto push is a very slow meachinsme, so I considered it was worth the extra 6 euro's (PRSC over NAB).

But you are right, other there ar no differences between NAB & PRSC

Be aware that both products are essentially crippleware in the sense that the intial purchase price is essentially rental. if you dont continue yearly subscription the software disables itself rendering it useless.

    Sort of like an AV?
Pay a yearly sub or no more updates.
That would make it useless too.
    Many programs are like this.

No its nothing like an av,as an av with out of date sigs still functions .These two softwares wont function at all after the subscription runs out.A case of milking the proverbial cow in my opinion.

Yes i am ,and im just making sure that prospective buyers are aware of the full facts concerning these 2 softwares.Updates for example usually consist of bugfixes ,and updating a whitelist occaisonally.

Hi ellison64 and thanks for the reply - yeah I was aware of that...and as I know a milkmaid I won't worry about the subscription for awhile yet.:)

So is it more sense to purchase NAB?

    this forum is biased!
i got all my NAB licences for free, so i really wont worry about any subscription worries.

i did have a problem once when it took 2 days off my account after the first half day use, but norton chat support (24/7) helped by remote assistance and it was all sorted within 20 minutes of starting the chat, oh.. and they gave me 1 extra day. lol

free and quick support - 10/10

the software isnt too bad either.

Because the sigs are a small part of its functionailty. It is mostly heuristics and behaviour blocking.Sygate firewall pro also had sigs as part of its "functionality" however the software didnt cease to function just because that small part wasn't updated. Its just another layer of protection in the software but not the only layer of protection. As i said each to his own but i think prospective buyers should be aware of the subscription service as it isnt made clear .The site in my mind implies that subscription is for upgraded versions etc.It doesnt state that the current version that you purchased would be useless unless you continued paying for it every year.

Yes as its cheaper and offers the same functionality, although i would imagine that NAB will be incorporated into its suite at some point. It must be a little embarrassing charging for this separately already , i would imagine.
