Tried it about a year ago, very easy to install, configure, mailscanning, auto update etc. Better than nothing, but I wouldn't bet my money on this horse, as detection rates are very poor. But with the new version......who knows? I won't be trying it again.

Couldn't resist trying again and I must say.....it looks very good, still simple, easy configuration, enough options for a simple setup. Everything works fine...Nice interface! I'll let it run for a few days and report back.
The Eicar testfiles, including the zip, were dealt with properly. So far, so good!

Just testing, that's all! Same as you are doing all week long! Detection rates are low, that's known, but the same story on several AV scanners. It runs very smoooth, that's for sure! Nice scanner for a large group......simple 'out of the box' product!

Protector Plus is developed by an Indian company named Proland. The AV product is frankly not worth wasting your time on, and has continually exhibited poor detection rates. Their website is here:

What does the fact, that it is Indian have to do with it? Don't start mentioning nationalities when it comes to AV products, it has bugger all to do with it. If it ain't from the States, it ain't good enough?

Cool down guys! CA is better than Protector Plus, atleast it has some certifications and the trusted Vet engine under its belt. As far as Indian AV softwares are concerned only Quickheal and eScan deserves a mention but both of them has to walk a long way.

Worse than CA/eTrust by quite a noticeable margin, unfortunately. However, I do still suppose its better than Prognet's Fire AV....
