Count me in on some of that action!

On one of my machines I think I'll use nothing and see if the internet really is as dangerous as the AV vendors say. I must say I've never roamed free on a naked pc.:doubt:

i dont, at least i dont want to see a traditional HIPS or antivirus database in it, rootkits improvement i can agree and behavior blocker i wuldnt have a problem with, but i really just want mbam to stay true to its purpose and not become an AV.

I agree. Leave MBAM to itself and don't turn it into a monster.

Come the final release of Comodo Internet Security 4, I will not use Avira on the Windows PC. Instead, I will use CIS 4, especially their new sandbox component. A couple of weeks ago, Avira let rogue Personal Security slip through. Although MBAM was not permitted to run, I was fortunately able to install SAS and use that to remove the rogue. With CIS 4, no rogue will get through due to the elevation alert of Comodo Sandbox.

Programs for sure I will use are Prevx, Defensewall, and Virtual PC.
Programs I might try are VM Player and Virtual Box.
Nothing McAfee will touch my system though.

I will use KIS, MBAM, SAS, and Win Patrol.
If I change from KIS I might use PC Tools Firewall Plus, F-Secure, and maybe Avast.

The only one I am sure I won't run is Bit Defender.

    Regards,
    Jerry

    ok here goes:
I will never use anything Norton or Macafee EVER!

I will use AVG (primary) and if some of my clients have a problem with it I will test then use Avast, MSE or Panda Cloud.

I will use Superantispyware Pro, Malwarebytes (as a backup), Spywareblaster, CCleaner, Mailwasher, Firefox, Chrome, Windows 7, XP's firewall.

I am always open to test new malware and AV programs on the two test machines I have.

and i believe in the "computer fairy"

I am pretty clear on the products that I will not even bother to try out:
anything from McAfee, CA, ZoneAlarm, AVG.

It seems that MSE works different on different setups. Mine it works great and it is one of the programs I will be using in 2010.

Exactly. I'm not blaming them, it's a great product as far as detection and warning.

    Will use.
FireFox, the add-ons let me get security that isn't otherwise available.
KeyScrambler - part of the reason for FF, it only works with FF, IE and Flock for the free version, and I'm not really interested in Flock, and IE by itself doesn't satisfy me.
HotSpotShield, or some sort of VPN.
Panda CloudAntivirus - so far seems to be doing me well, it's light on resources, so might as well.

    Will not use.
Any security software which gives me as much, or more, grief than the malware it's supposed to prevent. This is most AV, AS, AT and FW software out there. There just isn't any point. It's like having continuous injuries and getting beat up regularly training martial arts for self defense purposes, and realising that without it you'd feel a whole lot better and don't get mugged anyway.
