Better known as Trust-No-Exe, an app that is as vital in my arsenal as any, sadly no longer developed for years bit standing the test the time in this 21st Century for Windows.

Has anyone attempted to contact the developer of SD? Its listed as 1 of my favorite Apps on another thread. I don't believe i could replace it with anything out there. There's really nothing I would like to see changed about it at this time. Maybe we should all donate a few dollars to help keep the project going :)

Shadow Defender is dead. The developer has gone into thin air. Rumours says he was in conflict with the chinese government and perhaps fled out of the country.

What makes you think that ? :D

I think it's better to say it's on vacation, as we don't know for sure, just as we don't know anything about Tonys whereabouts etc :(

Anyway, all these apps listed in here aren't dead as such, as quite a few of us still happily use them, inculding me :) Not being developed any more would be better, i feel ;)

There's a thread at Shadow Defender's forum where a guy gives a couple of ideas about what to do with SD. The mod said that Tony might even be dead... :doubt: hopefully not. But the suggestions are quite good. Full access to the code and a good/skilled programmer are needed tho...

Ewido: I would so use this one if it was still alive

Ghost Security Suite: Looked like a nice app from what I have read.

EQSecure: Nice looking HIPS, if they had it in English I may have tried it.

Windows Anti-Spyware/Giant Anti-Spyware: Seemed like some nice Apps.

Spyware Doctor Starter Edition: I miss this one, now you must use the full AV to get the Anti-Spyware sigs.

Maybe if Tony was in trouble with the Chinese Government then he is incarcerated right now. That would explain his inability to reply. That's just a possibility. I have some friends in China. I will ask them to see if they can find any sign of him on the web as to where he might be. I doubt it will help, but maybe they will come across something.

I suppose a lot of this conjecture stems from me, I am the mod Patrick on the Shadow Defender forum but the reason I mentioned problems with the government was the suddenness of Tony's departure and the fact that he stopped communicating in the midst of normal dialogue.
What occurred to me at the time was
He is dead He is ill
Members of his family might be ill or dead
He has lost his ability to communicate in some way
He has been conscripted into the forces
Natural disaster (there have been floods and large loss of life in China)
He is developing security software that might be seen as being counter to governmental policies in some way.
My fears about his country's policies regarding internet usage are based on reports

    Wikipedia

    Internet Poilicies China

    BBC

    Firewall

    Guardian Uk

    PC World

Yes I know some of this info is a bit dated but just to give you an idea of why I was concerned.
