    Hi All

Have just purchased the full suite of DCS software, very pleased but I have a question...I am getting a very frequent pop-up from ProcessGuard Alert saying, 'Portexplorer.exe was blocked from accessing physical memory', is this normal?

    Regards

    Frank

Hi frank, What actions were you doing when you got the alert?

    Thanks. Piili

Hmm strange, I do not have an alert from ProcessGuard for that particular "allow access to physical memory" flag.
I do give PE authorisation to Terminate + Modify + read and have Protect from Termination + Modification and SMH enabled.
In the security list I Permit Always.

Maybe DCS can throw some light on it?

Ditto here. No "physical memory" alert when trying to use Port Explorer.

It could be operating system specific. Which OS are you using? I'm on XP SP2.

Same here, no physical memory alert with Port Explorer and XP SP2.

It's when I open Port Explorer....Processguard Alert then stops PE from accessing physical memory. o_O

And...the alert keeps coming up repeatedly.

I use Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 and all latest updates.

    Regards

    Hi Frank,

I am guessing, but it may be the way that Process Explorer works under Windows 2000. Ultimately, only DiamondCS can answer this question.

If you do not want the alerts, you can give Process Explorer (assuming you trust that this a true version of Process Explorer) rights to access physical memory under the Protection Tab. Just highlight Process Explorer, and check the physical access memory box at the bottom of the screen.

    Hi richrf

I purchased all 4 programs (PE, PG, TDS-3 and Wormguard) from the DCS website only yesterday, so I take it they are the genuine articles.

    Hi frank,

Yes, they are most probably genuine, but I always add the proviso so as to make double sure. I do not want to take anything for granted.
