I've just downloaded and installed SWG on to a WinXP pro OS. We have two accounts but I usually install everything on mine and my wifes account has access. With SWG some unusual dialogues when startting my wifes account.

    First
    SpywareGuard Error.
"Error reading SpywareGuard Definitions. The file maybe corrupt or another program may have tampered with the."

I exit this dialogue by clicking OK.

    Then
    Window Application Error.
"The instruction at 0x77fb112b reference memory at 0x00186000. The memory could not be read.

I exit this dialogue by clicking OK.

    Then
    Window Application Error.
"The instruction at 0x77f580ab reference memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate"

I click OK and then the account shuts down or freezes.

On my account everything is running well.

    So what do I do??

Have you tried installing SWG directly into her profile? Pete

Yes I've tried that but the problem is still the same.

Is the account that is having problems limited in any way?

i.e. Does it have full administrator access? (If not, does your account have full administrator access?)

    TIA.

Yes both accounts have admin rights. My wifes account has japanese non unicode enabled would this affect SWG?

I tried installing first onto her account then onto mine but still had the same problem.

You hit the nail on the head. Having japanese non unicode enabled would indeed affect SWG's operation, causing all of those problems.

The good news is that I already fixed a similar problem with SpywareBlaster in its latest release (2.6) and that it shouldn't be hard to fix this problem for the next release of SpywareGuard. :)

    Best regards,

Thanks for the info. I'll be waiting for the new release.

    Cheers,
