    1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
    2. On the Settings tab, click Advanced, and then click Change on the Adapter tab.
    3. Click Next, click Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want, and then click Next.
    4. Click Show All Devices, and then click (Standard Display Types) in the Manufacturers box.
    5. In the Models box, click Standard Display Adapter (VGA), click OK, and then click Next.
    6. Click Next, click Next again, and then click Finish.
    7. Click Close, click Close again, and then click Yes to restart your computer.

Let us know if that helps.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    hi pieter,

    I tried wht u said...

my computer hanged while restarting with a messg. on the screen.."windows is now restarting..."

I waited for the next 5-8 min but it remained as it is.
then i rebooted after the switch off.
It prompted me to start in safe mode.
    I restarted again!
now, it restarted normally.. but my screen display was not good.
It looked like what it looks in the safe mode.
    I didn't like that look....
so I re-installed my previous VGA settings.

I don't think that IE errors are anyhow related with the VGA settings.
may be u could explain it in a better way ...

    I found that method here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q235618/
when I looked for possible causes for the last error you posted.

Maybe it's worth to take a look at the display driver.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    hi,

I got the same type of error while using the Firefox-1.5 browser.

    Attached Image:

    FFoxError.jpg
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, I suspect that these are not browser (IE or Firefox or...) related problems.

but, then what o_O ....I could not understand yet.

The screenshot in post #29 shows the following error message: Firefox caused an invalid page fault in module MSVCRT.DLL.

This page has a solution to that particular error message.

BTW eureka I see you're running windows 98 se. Ever considered upgrading?
