I definitely have some difficulting in understanding but will try to post a suggestion . Reinstall the product . There is something wrongly configured or malfunctioning but it is definitely not a mass-problem . My program and the many I have personally installed do detect threats , including Eicar.










1. Download fresh new version of ESET NOD32 Antivirus 3.0 from
http://www.eset.com/download . Make sure that you choose the correct version.

2. Uninstall your current version from Control Panel
3. Reboot the computer when prompted
4. Delete manually these folders:

for Vista:
- C:\Program files\ESET
- C:\Program data\Eset
- C:\Users\~username~\AppData\Local\Eset

5. Reinstall your ESET software using the file you downloaded in step1 . Use typical install.

From what you show , I believe that you have problems with the rights . Your user and NOD32 , too. The problem seems to be not NOD32 related but Windows related.

NOD32 simply don't have rights and don't have write access to these files/folders , don't know exactly ... but it seems so.

If someone else knows how to fix them , I hope they post . Otherwise , Windows reinstallation with format should help.
