Problems downloading IE 7 update

(Using Windows XP Home Edition IE 7)

Part of the Patch Tuesday patch cycle was an update for IE 7.

I have my MS updates set to notify.

All updates were easily downloaded and installed, except for the IE 7 update.

I always disable security software before I download and install that stuff.

The IE 7 update was very difficult, the others went without effort, but I just couldn't get the IE 7 update to download, no matter what method for updating I tried ! After each attempt to download, it sort of aborted without response/continuation.

In the end, for some reason (?) the update did succeed.

Did anyone else have a problem with this one or others ?

 

No problems here on either Vista x64 or XP x64, both went fine...... Maybe chalk it up to just some odd glitch? As long as it finally installed, I think you're good....

 

Yeah, I think I've some idea about why it failed initially.

Complicated story though.
