@samy, if a strategy works for you and you are happy with it, then it is an effective strategy. If the issue you described in your first post is resolved, and you don't have any other major issues with the OS, then you don't need an immediate fresh install. Also I recommend against using a driver updater software. Just update your drivers one-by-one by downloading them directly from manufacturer's website. This is what I do and I have never had any driver issues. If you are having issues with Windows updates, you may block them for a month or two as long as you are running an updated antivirus/firewall. Also I would uncheck the "Get the latest updates as soon as they are available" option seen in the screenshot in your post#7. That option should only be used by advanced users.
