  1. Hey

When I try to run a scan on my USB Flash Disk I get the following error in the scanning log:

Scan performed at: 9/04/2005 10:53:41 AM

    Command line: F:\
    Operating memory - is OK
Active boot sector of the 2. physical disk - error reading disk sector

    date: 9.4.2005 time: 10:54:10
Scanned disks, directories and files: F:\
    Directory path F:\ is invalid.
    number of scanned files: 0
    number of viruses found: 0

This error message is displayed when there is a card reader installed with no card actually inserted. If that's the case, try installing the new beta and I'm pretty sure the issue will be gone.
Anotther possibility is that the data in the MBR sector is non-standard and therefore not recognized by NOD32. In that case, please drop an email to support@eset.com with a link to this thread.

I get a similar thing with normal file access on one of mine too but only when accessing a folder on the drive with anything executable in it. I just figured that the driver for the flash drive or usb disk couldn't handle the 'pending' status or something along those lines and so decided that the drive needs a reset. After a few seconds it becomes available again.
