Proactive Detection of new Samples? An explanation??

    I saw in the latest results of av-comparatives that nod32 tops the proactive detection of new samples. Can anyone pls explain what is this test in layman terms pls??o_O I also saw (on demand comparative) detection of polymorphic viruses. What the difference between the two and what are these testso_O

    Have you already read the test reports? They contain some explanation.

    Proactive detection test = test where detection of viruses not in the signature database is tested. Basicaly it is a real life test, whether your program can catch new malware.
