    @Charyb
Are you sure that is caused by PrivaZer ?

    Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1

This only happens when I run an in-depth clean up with PrivaZer.
    Edit:
I found the answer. I need to deselect "site icon" under Internet Browsing -> Chrome before the scan takes place. There is no option to deselect this after the scan. So, if you see something that you don't want cleaned after the scan takes place, you need to go back to the beginning, deselect the option then re-run the scan.

Hi, you might like to include the following entry in future ;)

I've had the "Disabling Logging" Reg trick he suggests in place for some time, & it works :)

I was only reminded about this today as i was looking at some other stuff in my comp. So i thought it worthwhile sharing ;)

Thanks CR, I checked the registry and found 'stuff' that I thought was cleared long ago. I suspect that the encryption is meant to prevent us from finding these scraps when using unencrypted search strings. Uninstalling an app doesn't delete these references.

    Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1

I couldn't get the NoEncrypt or NoLog to work on W7 Pro 64bit.
I deleted all the entries and then found that the quick launch entries in the left pane of "Start" had been deleted, so IMHO, we don't want everything deleted.
There are multiple sections/sets/groups of programs and links (.lnk).
I restored a backup taken just prior to messing with the registry.

NirSoft has a utility called "UserAssistView" which has been updated to work with W7. It decrypts the information so it's easy to read. It also allows (old) entries to be deleted. There's a search function that makes it relatively easy to find these (old) entries (which contain the vendor name as well as the program/link name) but upon deleting entries, the display reverts to the top and if you were just visually searching, you need to remember where the slide bar was (approximately) before the deletion(s), depending on the number of deletions.

    PrivaZer 1.7.1

    Before v1.2.10 (22 July 2012) of PrivaZer,
all Userassist entries were deleted which was not so good as users may want to preserve entries in the list of recently used apps in the Start menu.

This was changed in v1.2.10 of PrivaZer :

    v1.2.10 changelog
    - Improved UserAssist cleanup
(only invalid entries are cleaned up)
    - Fixed issue : recently used apps
no longer displayed in Start Menu

So, after v1.2.10, only invalid entries in Userassist are removed, it means that if you uninstall an app, PrivaZer will detect that a path stored in a Userassist entry is no longer valid and it will remove this useless entry.
    (see enclosed images)

We performed some further tests this weekend.
It seems to work quiet well under XP in many cases but under Win7, it has still to be improved.

So we will inform you as soon as it is ready.
It will be added in next release.

Still waiting for that to be removed, and why do you need an extra app to run for the context menu, when you can easily do that through the registry I believe.

The extra app enables PrivaZer to be launched without UAC popping up everytime you use the context menu.

We will remove "_" in next release.

I don't use UAC, it's the first thing I disable on an install of Windows!

You said that a few months back, it's still there.

    Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1

    Team,

I maybe found a bug in this last version.

Without having admin account, when scanning from the main window for traces on all the Computer Privazer did not detect anything in Internet browsing.
But when going to window Scan in depth/Internet Activities, Privazer found all traces.

Then, when launching the Clean from the main window I've got Prompted that an error occurred (while Privazer was still running and starting to clean).
I tried to send you the report writing down my email, but I have got a failed submission prompt.

    Hey PrivaZer team,

Good to see you continue to improve and offer a better product on every release. Besides this Wilders forum, do you guys have any other forum where you gather bug info/suggestions or announce new version releases?

By the way, I'd suggest you change the title of this thread to something more generic, the version showing is well outdated. :D

No we are 100% Wilders, and we are happy to have found like a sweet home here.:thumb:

Suggestions are also given by users through the Uservoice widget on our homepage but most of the bug reports/suggestions we receive come from Wilders members and we try to improve PrivaZer as fast as we can.

    Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1

    Hello everybody, :D

I would like to submit to the PrivaZer team two registry keys that seems to contain the list of every executable that have been running at least one time on a system (even after an uninstall) :

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartPage\ProgramsCache

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\AppCompatibility\AppCompatCache

I didn't find any way to delete these keys. :'(

Can I count on PrivaZer team for doing something about that ? :argh:

    Hello,

    @genieautravail
We will look into this. Thanks for the info.

    @Dogbite
Sorry for delay. We were working on the new release v1.10
which will add new features requested by Wilders members :

    1. Cleanup of Chrome-based web browsers :
    - Comodo Dragon
    - Orbitum
    - SRWare Iron Free
    - Chromium
    2. Language choice for the portable version + It will remember your choice for next runs.
    3. New right-click menu with "Secure delete with PrivaZer" (with no "_")
    4. Only 2 PrivaZer icons in the Start Menu on XP
    5. New PC shutdown process, more respectful of apps closing

Before making it available, we will now solve your issue, Dogbite. :argh:
