Do i dare to use this program? 5 of 6 times when i have used it my Os got trashed according to sfc /scannow.
It is so long ago so it probably was W7, or very early W10. If i got that result, others should have to. Or?
@The_PrivaZer_Team - Working as smooth as a well oiled machine, err software. The app on a regular basis keeps the HDD free of clutter and leftovers like none other. BUT-I have to shout out an even louder Thank You for the Shellbags_Analyzer_Cleaner. I run that during daily sessions and it is a jewel in sweeping out the registry or wherever those Bags are recorded and the performance increase is always noticeable and a welcome relief. As you know those can pile up and make a long list of wherever a user searches or browses to on the PC. Your program dusts them out nicely each and every time without a single sneeze of any issue.
@EASTER, Thank you! Notre plaisir. @pb1, We fixed an issue in 2017 that could result in a break of some programs in your start menu after a windows update and a cleanup with Privazer. In that case, Sfc /scannow could show up some errors. This problem was fixed 2 years ago. Another possibility is that you had a disk that was not in good shape, which could cause some sector's to be faulty, after a cleanup, so that some system files might have been damaged. A Chkdsk /F /R C: would have helped in that case. And some tools to check the disk SMART data and thus its health would also be of some help. Hope it helps.
I was notified via the PrivaZer Donors interface there was an update but one has to go to the website. So I did, hit "download," clicked Update button and a little box said "Successful PrivaZer Update!". However, the version on my user interface still says v.3.0.75. Tried this several times and several ways. Anyone update this successfully, so that the proper version # is showing?
Ah, OK. Well, I guess we have to wait, then. Edit: I sent Goversoft a little note about this. Hopefully, it's taken care of shortly.
Krusty, I saw your post and tried again. Someone must've done a quiet fix in the meantime as the updated version is showing properly now.
@plat1098 -- By "tried again" -- did you re-install the update you already had, OR did you re-download the update & install that?
I was wondering if Privazer cleans IFEO files. See here: https://blog.malwarebytes.com/101/2015/12/an-introduction-to-image-file-execution-options/
(Win 10 64bit clean install) When using "Delete without a trace" from the Privazer right click explorer menu on folders/files containing Japanese characters I often get a random number of errors reported. They are always "Unable to open" followed by the problem path in question (in capitals with some characters replaced by "(? ? ?)" followed by "00000000000x0.0". Before deletion, the file/folder names show correctly in explorer, without any missing characters or substituted question marks. Sometimes this error leaves behind folders with names such as 000000x0.0, but most often the deletion appears to occur correctly in all other respects. As a donator, I'd be very grateful if you could find time to look into this. Otherwise, excellent product!

Hello guys, @fredvries I will check if it makes sense to clean IFEO files. Not supported yet. @Fonngrog, we will look into your issue concerning the deletion of files containing Unicode characters (Japanese). @Krusty, can you check if you can delete restore points without errors and without using PrivaZer? Just to know if it comes from your system or from PrivaZer...
