Well, i got it. Privazer 2.26 required Task Scheduler service on 'Enabled' for working properly. But for me Task Scheduler is somewhat 'useless' all the time, yet the previous version no need to depend on it.
Done. Please download the new release v2.26.1 http://privazer.com/download.php Changelog : - Fixed an issue in v2.26 when Task Scheduler is not running - Improved donors version - Improved updates for donors version (no need to reenter your license number) Thanks for the feedback @cloudstr
Been somewhat inactive lately, but upgraded to v2.26.1 and now everything seems OK! A big thank you!!
Privazer 2.27 released : Changelog : - Improved speed of PrivaZer start - Improved speed of scan start - Improved donors version - Improved support of Free YouTube Downloader http://privazer.com/ Rules
I tried updating to v2.27 today and I encountered a problem. A description is as follows: 1. I downloaded and ran the latest "privazer_free" executable and selected the "Update" option. 2. The installation process started, but a few seconds later the following error occurred: http://i.imgur.com/60IHqLz.jpg 3. If I press "OK", the installer sits like this forever until I kill the task: http://i.imgur.com/oyD8isN.jpg 4. If I try to uninstall Privazer completely (using the start menu shortcut OR the control panel), I get the same error as in the first screenshot. 5. The funny thing is, Privazer still runs normally when I open the program using the desktop shortcut. Nothing appears to be corrupted or broken. Most interestingly, the version number has changed to 2.27, so the installation appears to have been completed. That said, I am still concerned. I now have a program on my computer that I can't uninstall. Any suggestions?
Hello, could you send us a screenshot of the uninstaller window + error message when uninstalling PrivaZer (not updating it) ? Thanks.
Hi, Thanks for the reply. As requested, I went to uninstall PrivaZer so I could take a screenshot of the error message. However, this time PrivaZer uninstalled successfully and there was no error message. I then re-installed PrivaZer, and it worked fine. So...there's no problem! I have no idea why it worked this time, as nothing has changed on my system since my last post (to my knowledge). The only thing I can think of is there have been a a few computer reboots since then. Thanks for offering to help. Sorry to trouble you.
I see a new version is available... Change log... v2.28 - Improved speed of MFT cleanup - Improved Russian support - Improved Hungarian support - Improved Turkish support
I have an idea to add a feature to erase all traces of USB-connected drives & CD-ROMs from the registry, similar to this app: http://code.google.com/p/usboblivion/ This looks very promising to enhance security.
Salutations, Nice find and I agree a 150%! Let hope that this happened. "I have an idea to add a feature to erase all traces of USB-connected drives & CD-ROMs from the registry, similar to this app: http://code.google.com/p/usboblivion/ This looks very promising to enhance security." Moose's World
I had some trouble completing a full clean on a 20gb partition... kept on stopping @ 40% of free space clean. I managed to overcome this by extending the partition to 40gb, and no more errors. Is there a minimum partition space requirement for a full partition clean? Mind you, this 20gb partition had nothing apart from Recycling Bin and System Volume Information directories... In reference to the above about USB-connected drives and CD-ROMs... as long as the drivers aren't messed around with, then all is well. The last thing one wants is to plug in an external HDD etc..., and see Windows pop up a dialog box for driver installation. EDIT: Still getting the clean failed on my two empty partitions... didn't happen in the previous build... maybe I am doing something wrong?
Hello to all, 1. USB history cleanup was already implemented in PrivaZer but deactivated. It needs a rework. 2. @marzametal, please contact us on support@privazer.com to arrange a remote support. Okay?
I've been using PrivaZer occasionally over the last few months , alongside my usual first-choice junk/privacy cleaners. ..... and I'm impressed ! An option in Settings to bypass UAC would be really useful , especially when PrivaZer is used from the context menu. Yes , USB history cleanup would also be a bonus .... Keep up the great work !

Howdy All, PrivaZer 2.30 [WinXP SP3] First off, huge thanks and a salute to the Devs for creating, maintaining, and keeping PrivaZer free. Superior job to say the least. However, I've a few comments regarding 2.30. I noticed that the 'USB History' option under Windows History still won't stick. Wouldn't it be prudent to get that thing working? Luckily, we have usboblivion 1.10.2.0 to fill in the gap. Next, is there no way for a user to set custom files and folders? I'm referring to what CCleaner offers. I use a lot of portable software instead of installing via the system. Sometimes this software will smatter the hard drive with various files. It'd be a nice touch to have PrivaZer be able to get at those files like CCleaner does. Lastly, any way to get a feature rich command line based PrivaZer? Probably asking a LOT there, but I use an AutoIT script to completely automate my system clean up routine including multiple reboot actions. Basically its fire and forget. Start the script, then go mow the lawn for a few hours. It would be a godsend to be able to call PrivaZeor to quietly complete its various jobs as needed. I'll point out that CCleaner DOES have command line options that I use within my AutoIT script. Anyway, good bloody job PrivaZer!!! No doubt you are the bane of a lot of nosey people.
