Hello The_PrivaZer_Team, I ran both suggested checks via the cmd command window with admin rights. Nothing has shown up and the boot process still takes ages. Any other ideas? Thank you for your help with this.
Hello, @younameit 1. Which SSD do you have? (It could be a firmware issue). 2. try to use a restore point You can contact us directly here : support@privazer.com @zach Donors version is here : http://privazer.com/download-donors.php Thanks
using Belarc advisor I can get whatever USB drive was pluged in the computer, this would be a nice addition to the cleaning feature IMHO Example output, display last plugin and serial of the storage... Samsung 830 Well, the restore point would be quite a bit in the past and I think it would indiscriminately affect all software installed since then. Therefore I'm a bit hesitant. I mean the worst thing is that I have to wait longer for the boot process to finish. It's not the end of the world. Just an annoyance. I thought I better let you know though as it seems to have occurred after a thorough PrivaZer scan & delete procedure. If I'm the only one having/reporting this issue, it might just be a fluke.
Re: PrivaZer Discussion Thread - 3 Questions Hi, I have three questions: 1.) ini-file Advanced Options => Memory, Indexing => Pagefile.sys. I prefer to have 2 boxes marked: a.) After each cleanup with PrivaZer c.) At every PC shutdown, but always the mark at c.) is automatically moved to b.) At next PC shutdown only (= annoying) Can all my settings be fully kept in the ini-file? 2.) Scheduling If item nr 1 is properly solved, can PrivaZer then be scheduled to run, when the computer is idle for a long time with these 2 options: a.) Visible on the screen, or b.) Running in the background 3.) Moving icon in systemtray or on activity field Can the PrivaZer icon in systemtray or activity field move a little or give a message, when Privazer is running, especially in the background? (As I already have many programs starting with Windows, then I must of course allow PrivaZer a delayed start a couple of minutes after Windows' startup by using my WinPatrol software.)
Hello to all here, @PaulyDefran For donors, the "donors" version is here (permanent link) : http://privazer.com/download-donors.php There is no difference with the free version yet but that will be changed... @sweidre Thanks for all your numerous suggestions! We do appreciate. We will look into this and improve this in next release. @younameit Can you run CrystalDiskinfo and Samsung Magician and check your SSD firmware (latest firmware is CXM03B1Q). @P00r We will do our best to have the USB history cleanup back. Thanks for the suggestion. @for all New PrivaZer v2.11 http://privazer.com/download.php Changelog - Improved Indexing cleanup . Compact Windows.edb . Save free space - Improved log files cleanup - Improved eMule plus cleanup
I've already mentioned my misgivings a few weeks ago. But to be fair I let some time elapse before testing again both with the full monty clean up including free space and pagefile and again a few days later with the so called smart clean up. I'm not impressed. After rebooting - aside from a host of inconsequential bmps and gifs - Recuva found numerous jpgs and mp4/flv clips. Many of the jpgs were recoverable and viewable and several video clips could be played back. Morever there were a far larger number of picture/video files that whilst unrecoverable displayed the filenames. Same goes for other filetypes. (Windows 7 home premium 64-bit)
And now I have run White Canyon's Secure Clean (I'm not touting it because it is limited, but it does do a decent job of erasing mft and deleted files). I ran the full schedule and aside from one small ini file nothing showed up after a Recuva deep scan. I didn't alter anything inbetween running Privazer > Reboot > Recuva > Secure Clean > Reboot > Recuva I've already mentioned that ccleaner leaves zzzz's instead of filenames, Secure Clean leaves it's own calling card AF~S0221.T~P 104857600 C:\?\ for each overwritten block of approx 100mb Not ideal, but far better than the huge mishmash of filenames, partially overwritten filenames and varying states of recoverability of deleted files I found after using Privazer.
Hello Willmar, Happy to hear from you again. Here you can find more info on Recuva "deep scan" : http://www.piriform.com/docs/recuva/using-recuva/wizard-mode/the-deep-scan-option Deep Scan mode goes through the entire hard drive to find files. So it means that it scans free sectors and occupied ones to identify audio/video/Office files. So that it lists not only deleted files but also all your files still existing on your drive. To help you, please contact us here : support@privazer.com to arrange a remote assistance support session.
New PrivaZer v2.12 released : http://privazer.com/download.php Changelog : - New option added . Index.dat & WebCache . Delete WebCache . Delete WebCacheV01.dat - Improved IE10/IE11 cleanup - Improved Shellbags cleanup - Improved log files cleanup
So I finally decided to try a secure cleanup, haven't done so on my main drives on my desktop yet. My laptop is shows 64:3x:xx, is that hours:minutes:seconds, because it's only a 750GB drive? I also decided to run it on my 2TB from my desktop computer, and it's showing 227:0x:xx. So, can someone -- preferably from PrivaZer -- please explain what's going on?
OK. 1. Is it the first time you run PrivaZer on thoses PCs? 2. If no, how was the speed before? 3. And what has changed since the last time you run PrivaZer?
I've only used PrivZer to secure delete single files and/or folders. Never used it to do a secure cleanup, as I mentioned in post #565.
OK. Can you test your drive read:write speed with CrystalDiskMark, and post the results here ? http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskMark/index-e.html
I can't run that with PrivaZer which I have currently cleaning the external HDD. And really can't run it on my laptop either, seeing as how it's cleaning the OS drive C:\.
