Ok, yes keeps settings enabled is better for protection, maybe you should add PrivaZer to defender exclusion settings or in configure defender you've a option to add ASR exclusion

PS :don't know if it's related to your norton uninstall, how did you uninstall-it, via windows or used the norton uninstall tool utility ?

HiBIt Uninstaller first, then ran their new removal tool, just to be sure it's gone.

Being in Australia, I don't think that applies here. I'd have to pay more money than I feel is worth it, for three more years.

Chose 0Patch for now, until I get around to reinstalling Kubuntu dual-boot. The more time I'll spend on Kubuntu, the less time I'll bother with Windows.

Anyhow, the problem here for me is when I run PrivaZer. When Macrium Reflect finishes my backup, I'll see if the exclusion works.

Edit: Yeah, I believe I can select to sign in online and get the extension for free, but...

 

My exclusions don't stick after a system restart for some reason. I'll have to investigate further, but after applying the whole PrivaZer folder in C: program Files (x86), then rebooting, the exclusion has disappeared. The same message from MD.

 

After I add that folder, then close the window, next time I open Exclusions, it's not there.

Detection on your screenshot show blocked by asr rules, have you exclude the whole folder from Configure defender ASR exclusions?, maybe added it to defender exclusion settings is not enough
You could also uninstall PrivaZer and reinstall it. i can't reproduce the detection you've even if am using w11.

 

It's starting to get a little late here, but here is my problem:

Add exclusion to Configure Defender, either files or folders. Close window. Re-open exclusions window, exclusions disappeared. No idea why, or how to resolve that.

Disabling MD before running PrivasZer seems to work.

Don't know why I can't add exclusions through Configure Defender, but it seems not to be a PrivaZer fault.

I've had enough tonight.

PS for your breakfeast : detection is caused by c:\system32\vssadmin.exe, so am mistaken this is not privazer need to be excluded, Volume Shadow Copy Service is the cause.

 

Great news, @Rules ,

I went directly into MD and made the exclusion there. This time after running PrivaZer, I didn't get that block from MD. That's a compromise I can live with.
