    Hello all,

I have been trialing both Primary Response SafeConnect ($34.95) and Norton Antibot ($29.95). I like the products but it seems like the prices are just a bit high. I noticed on the Sana Security website under the Buy tab there is another product called Primary Response Identity Protection ($24.95) so I sent a note to their support asking what the difference is between the 2 products.

They replied that Primary Response Identity Protection is a rebranded version of Primary Response SafeConnect this is primarily sold by their resellers. They stated that if you have Primary Response Identity Protection then you do not need Primary Response SafeConnect since they provided the exact same protection.

So it seems that you can get the protection provided by SafeConnect and Antibot for $24.95 by buying Identity Protection.

Sorry if that is old news. I did not see any mention of it here on the forums.

Is the software also rendered useless if you dont continue yearly subscription as is the case with safeconnect and antibot though?

    For those who are interested,

Under Vista 32 SP1, I have recently had to submit a crash dump and log to Sana Security for analysis related to Primary Response Identity Protection.

    For those who are interested,

Primary Response Identity Protection(PRIP;$24.95) offers the exact same protection as Primary Response SafeConnect(PRSC;$34.95) except that it lacks the "monitored" list and ability to manually "allow" or "quarantine" an executable.

For those of you who are interested in trialing or purchasing PRIP for Vista SP1, please contact Sana Security at (support[at]sanasecurity[dot]com) and request the registry fix for the "failure to start service" problem that I had originally experienced.

    Hello Ges,

The response that I got from Sana Security is that the registry fix will "only" be provided separately for "now" to Vista SP1 users who request it. Keep in mind that the "failure to start service" problem is only specific to Vista SP1. If you are interested, I would be more than happy to send you this registry fix with installation instructions.

Lastly, I will get back to you when I obtain more information regarding a PRIP reseller in the UK or western Europe with PayPal support.

    Hello Ges,

That is great news! If that is the case, until proven otherwise, it appears that the "crash" and "failure to start service" problem only affects Vista 32 SP1. Lastly, did you verify that there are two running PRIP services and that the PRIP system tray icon is multicolored instead of white/grey?

    SanaMonitor.exe * 32 | 00 | 1.588 kB
    SanaSafeConnect.exe *32 | 00 | 2.132 kB

Ofc, there is cpu activity but very lil :thumb: . The trayicon is indeed orange/blue and it says protection enabled. I am running SP1.
