when i go to download prevx 1 is gives me the amd processer version.
which is fine for this pc.
but i cant test it on my old pc.
so i might have to bring my old pc down to connect it to ther internet to download and install it.
    can someone post some screenshots?

Yes. Everything should be up and running.
The control centre is now called the Dashboard.

Your license will have been assigned to a dashboard URL.
To find out what your dashboard URL is go to http://info.prevx.com/licvalidator.asp and enter your license key.

    Have fun!

The same installer will run on non-AMD systems. Its for x86 and AMD.
All 64-bit processors are AMD clones - like all 32-bit processors are Intel clones. AMD won the 64-bit battle over Intel.

Hey everyone. I still have version 1, so should I wait for Prevx to push the new release out and let it update that way, or do I need to do a complete uninstall and reinstall Prevx2?

It's really up to you. If you want to use it now, then you will need to uninstall and reinstall. If you would rather wait, it will be put on the automatic updater sometime later. Beta testing went pretty smoothly, but some people prefer to wait and see how it goes, rather than installing new versions early.

How do I remove this "pinbeta" from the console?
Uninstall and download the commercial version? Or just leave it as it is?

Real world testing will be the key.

Thanks Notok. I'm actually pretty excited about the new version, and although I was close to installing the Comodo Pro Firewall to go along with Prevx1 a few weeks ago, I don't think I will need it with Prevx2.

some rumors are saying that the new feature to make coffee is working really well, but only if you have a usb coffee pot device that support usb 2.0, otherwise coffee it's a bit bitter-tasting. No problem, it's a bug we'll fix in the next update.

and you still haven't seen our SP1 upgrade that'll come at the end of 2007! It'll implement a really new cool feature to fry potatos with support for WiFi frying pans. Please it's a secret, don't say this to anyone yet.

I got the final Prevx installed and running nicely. Also it shows my free trial back again instead of the 30 days to buy. Thanks Prevx!!!!

Right now I am running it with Nav 2007 and Boclean but I may just run it on its own after a bit. Gotta make sure it's little old lady friendly first so I can install it on some family computers.

Hi, folks: Nice to hear that more and more cool innovations to be added onto prevx2, but, please do not turn it into a versatile utility app; brewing coffee and frying potatos are ok for now but not doing laundry--just too much, too much resources sucking.

Don't worry - our primary goal is always to take care of resource usage. Think, if we can do it without too much system load, we can still fight malware and moreover we can allow you to go out with your beloved. You'll love Prevx 2.0 more and more :D

Ok, time to go to bed and finishing to kid around :D

    Signin'off :)

I've just downloaded PrevX 2.0 and have done some tests. I've run it in Expert mode as I wanted to take full control. The interface is very slick great graphics so it makes a big difference compared to other HIPS products I've been looking at. The first test was to put a real world virus on the PC and PrevX detected the threat and sent it to jail which was good news.

The other tests really concerned me. I ran a number of test "apps" to do the following:

    - Update key registry settings (RUN / RUN_ONCE) - DIDN'T QUERY
    - Write process memory to a running process - DIDN'T QUERY
    - Update the HOST file - DIDN'T QUERY
    - Update Explorer settings - DIDN'T QUERY

PrevX claims to have multiple ways of detecting malware. I tested this by updating one single byte in a real virus (which it had detected) using a hex editor. The modified virus ran without detection or even prompting me.

PrevX 2.0 = Very slick interface but I found in the real world it offers exactly the same security as an A/V product while you have an Internet connection. If you're not connected to the Internet known viruses are allowed to execute and it offered me no protection.

Please contact support as your installation clearly isn't working properly.
I've just ran the very same tests in expert mode and all actions that should be queried were queried immediately; run keys and hosts file.
Process hijacking (writing to mem) is not queried at the moment - that setting is in report mode.
Which particular explorer settings were you changing?

Did you change the settings to query you for unknown programs? Obviously if your offline the community database cannot be queried about an unknown process.

By the way, had the initial post-installation scan and subsequent process scan completed? Not everything is active until that completes.
